Ruth Weier started working for Parsons Insurance in 1996 and is licensed in property & casualty, crop and life & health insurance. Let her experience guide you when purchasing home, auto, umbrella, farm, life, health, or long-term care insurance. Ruth takes great pride in assisting her customers find the right products to suit their needs. Working with Medicare beneficiaries is her passion.  She truly enjoys explaining the different types of Medicare products and is willing to help customers understand the differences in the products available transitioning to Medicare. Ruth is a member of the Viborg Community Club and is proud of the work they have done in our community.  Ruth and her husband Brian reside in Viborg, South Dakota, have two grown sons, two great daughters-in-law and five beautiful grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family, gardening, camping and motorcycling.

Amy Christensen is a Parsons’ licensed  crop insurance and property & casualty agent.   Amy grew up a farmer’s daughter and currently works with her husband Corey as third generation farmers. They raise corn, beans, alfalfa, as well as two future farmers, Ryder and Parker.  Her experience and background enhance her vast knowledge and training in crop insurance products.  Clients praise Amy’s willingness and patience to explain complex and constantly changing crop products and coverage's, and she will work with you to identify the coverage's right for you and your farming operation.  Amy also enjoys spending time with family and friends, golfing, reading and doing craft projects.

Sharon Wirth is a licensed property & casualty insurance agent with an emphasis on farm coverage.  From working with her husband Matt on his family’s farm, Sharon knows you have a lot invested in your buildings and machinery and she will work hard to help you be sure that all your property is carefully valued and covered appropriately. Sharon’s husband, sons and other family members proudly serve or have served in our military. This enables her to engage in another passion, quilting, to raise awareness and help preserve memories for the military community. Angie Boyer is a licensed agent in property & casualty and life & health lines.  Angie has desire to do everything she can to help you in protecting what matters to you.  Angie is committed to taking the time to be sure that she understands your concerns and works with you to address them to your satisfaction.  Angie is a Hurley native, after spending a few years in Omaha with her husband, Joshua. Angie loves to travel, hang out with family, especially her two adorable children, and use her creative talents to add fun and festiveness to our office and community events.

Michelle Schoenefeld is a full time Instructional Coach and Interventionist for the Harrisburg School District. She coaches teachers on their instructional practices and provides reading interventions for struggling readers. Since 2015, she has shared her talents and some of her precious spare time with Parsons’ Insurance. Michelle embodies the phrase ‘other duties as assigned’ and always handles clients, coworkers and tasks with cheerfulness and professionalism.  Michelle is happy to assist where she can from providing support to agency staff, auditing reports, or filling in on receptionist duties. Michelle and her husband Galen live in Viborg, and we are lucky when she delights us all with her talents as a cook and a baker.

Naomi Martz is Parsons’ Insurance newest licensed agent in life, health, property & casualty.  She has been with Parsons since April of 2022.  Naomi has a willingness to work with customers to learn their needs so that she can assist in protecting what matters.  Naomi is a Centerville native, and you may recognize Naomi from Wells Fargo Bank when they were in Viborg.  Naomi and her husband Jamie live in Centerville SD with their son Tucker.  They have one grown son Tyrell, a daughter in law Jess and granddaughter Alliyah whom they love and adore.

Julie is the first face you will see 3 days a week when you visit Parsons Insurance Agency.  You will immediately notice her welcoming smile, unflagging enthusiasm, and the desire to help wherever she can.  Julie is committed to taking the time to be sure that she understands your concerns and works with you to get you to an agent so that your needs are met.  Julie has been with Parsons since November of 2020.   Julie and her husband Ordell have two grown sons, two great daughter-in-laws and four granddaughters.  When not at work you can find Julie camping, reading or spending time with her family and friends.

Following graduation from Nettleton Business College, Melanie began her career as a legal secretary and transitioned in 1976 to working alongside her husband, Jay W. Parsons, in their farming operation and income tax preparation business.  She has been a licensed insurance agent since 1985 and owns Parsons’ Insurance Agency, a multi-line insurance agency in Viborg; and is serving in 2022 as the state President of the Independent Insurance Agents of South Dakota.

Melanie Parsons is currently the Board President of Pioneer Memorial Hospital & Health Services in Viborg, South Dakota and has been a member of the Board since 1996.  

An active Christian, Melanie is committed to the Church and serves in multiple capacities, including as church organist for over 55 years.  She enjoys playing golf, spending time with her family, and continuous learning.
