On behalf of the Southeast Enterprise Facilitation Project, Viborg Development Corporation and Parsons' Insurance Agency, we are excited about your participation in the Regional Career Fair this year. We hope you find the day educational as well as fun. In preparation for the event, we want to make you aware of the careers and education represented at the “fair”. As of February 3rd, there are 16 businesses signed up and 12 colleges/tech schools to staff the booths and a list is included. If students have developed a business card and/or resume, they should be prepared to give some to prospective employers.
There will be a Simulated Job Interview. “Job Interview Instructions” will be handed out in their packet during the “Welcome” when they arrive which will describe four (4) careers from which to choose to interview for practice. The Application for Employment was included in that mailing and it is recommended that each student fill out the Application for Employment before arriving at the “fair”. Once the interview is concluded the interviewer will give the student a critique sheet of what to work on to sharpen their skills. There are approximately 15 interviewers from the Viborg and surrounding Communities, who have committed their personal time to help facilitate this simulation.
Please stay on your bus until your allotted time. If everyone enters the building at the same time there will not be enough chairs for everyone to sit during the instructions. The following is the schedule of school arrivals/departures.
9:00-11:00 = Menno (11), Bridgewater/Emery (51)
9:15-11:15 = Viborg/Hurley (57)
9:30-10:30 = Canistota (15), Freeman Public (17)
9:45 = Marion (25), Irene/Wakonda (22)
10:00-12:00 = McCook Central (33), Parker (25)
School Personnel – Please read the following to the students before stepping off the bus to pre-prepare them for the event. Thanks.
